Fears, lies, depression, anxiety, judgment -
these are only a few of the things in my own life that have kept me in my
comfort zone. I have always struggled with stepping out of what is normal into
something new. What will people think? What if I fail? What if I am not strong
enough to complete the task? All of these questions run through my mind when I
feel God telling me to do something I wouldn't normally do. I battled my
comfort zone for a week, before I finally had the courage to start my blog. I
was afraid of the judgment from people. I was scared because I didn't know how
people would receive it. It was way outside of my comfort zone. However, I
don't want to live my life stuck in my comfort zone. I read this book several
years ago called “Made to Crave” by Lysa TerKeurst. In this book was a quote,
"Comfortable Christians never change the world." Comfortable
Christian are stuck in their comfort zone and too scared to leave it. I don't
want to be fearful of leaving my comfort zone because I know that God is going
to do some amazing things, if I let Him. In the book of Ruth, Ruth had the
choice to return to what she was comfortable with being her family and her
homeland or go to a new land with her mother-in-law, Naomi, where she didn't
know anyone. Ruth stepped out of her comfort zone and showed her trust in God
with traveling to a new home with Naomi. This new path lead to Ruth meeting her
husband, Boaz. Ruth left what was familiar in order to reach her destiny. I
could only pray to have this much courage. Ruth is truly an inspiration in my
own life. Sometimes returning to your old ways of life is not the plan
God has for you. I have had to learn this in my own life. My way would have
been to keep all of the things I write to myself, but that wasn't God's plan.
So, maybe someone reading this today may feel like God is calling you to do
something different. Maybe He is trying to change up some stuff in your life.
TRUST HIM!! He knows what He is doing! He could be using you to change the
world. My prayer is that we all get a little less comfortable in our lives.
Remember, we aren't meant to stay on this earth forever, we are just passing
through on our way Home. Make a difference in the short time you are here.
CHOOSE TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE!
For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.
