Now,
I don't know about you but my life is far from perfect. Actually, my life is
quite messy at the moment. I have struggles, heartache, depression, and
anxiety. We all have things in our lives that make it messy. That's the beauty
of life. Jesus didn't intend for us to live perfect lives with no trials,
troubles, and stress. Jesus works best in my life when I just let it be messy
and trust that He has a plan. There is a Jason Crabb song called “Through the
Fire” and in the song it says:
“He never promised that the cross would not get heavy
And the hill would not be hard to climb.
He never offered a victory without fighting.
He said help would always come in time.”
I think sometimes in our lives we think that because we are followers of Jesus our lives will be easy breezy. However, it is the opposite. Sometimes we have messy lives. For too long in my own life, I tried to fix everything and everybody. Recently, I have taken a step back from trying to fix everything. I just embrace the mess that Jesus has created me to be. We don't have to have everything together to come to Jesus. He wants us to bring Him all of our doubts, fears, and anxiety. He is the only one who can fix the mess. It may seem like the mess in your life is way too big and Jesus wouldn't understand, but NOTHING is too big of a mess for Him. Maybe you feel like you have been stuck in your messy situation for far too long and Jesus isn't helping you. That is completely untrue. He is working, even when we can't see it. Just like the song says, “Help will always come in time.” Most likely not our time, but trust me, it will come. He didn’t bring you this far to leave you stranded. We have a choice everyday to let our messy dictate how our day is going go. We can find joy in the mess or we can choose to feel bad for ourselves. I plan on finding the joy in my messy life. So, today if you are feeling tired of struggling to fix everything in your life, just embrace the mess. God is going bring you through it!
